First on my list of natural homemade shampoos is a recipe I’ve promised to one of our readers some time ago then shuffled through a whole lot of old notebooks only to realize I don’t have it anymore.

In an effort to seal my “crunchy” status, I even tried the whole  ‘no poo  thing hoping to rid myself completely of a need for any sort of “product.” After two months of trying, I learned that with my hard water it just wasn’t going to happen. (Sigh) I was beginning to think I was doomed to harsh chemicals and cleaners in order to feel like I could show my face (or head) in public again. Surely there was a natural shampoo that would work? Anyone? Anyone?

SLS is commonly used, nonetheless, because it’s cheap and has the ability to foam up when mixed with a bit of salt. Unfortunately, many consumers have the perception that lots of foam=cleaner hair, but this is not the case: the foam itself doesn’t help clean your hair much. But SLS does get rid of grease, which is why it is used for cleaning engines and in garage and kitchen floor cleaning products.

My Granddaughter had head lice and my Son tried the Rid X which did not help at all really. But when The Lice Trap got here they used in her hair and by then it had spread to my other granddaughter's hair. It was enough to treat both of them and they said you could just see them falling out of their hair that I needed to write a review about this because it was wonderful. So thank you very much for your help and your product. It was perfect.
